Yes, that’s the name I gave to the yarn that I am spinning now on Ravelry. It’s quite light and airy. I am pretty happy with the result. I just have to duplicate it for the other half of the fiber. Oy! There will be four more hours of plying. I must remember not to start the process too late in the evening.

Click on them to go to Flickr and see the photos in their original uploaded sizes. You can sort of see the sparks. But they don’t look anything like what you can see in real person. Full of colors and fires. Silver Hologram Angelina is quite amazing.

Really difficult to photograph the finished yarn. The colors just don’t show correctly in the pictures. There’s definitely more green when you look at it with the naked eye. But I can’t really call it green yarn. There are so many colors in the fiber. Therefore the name “Forest Jewels”.

As I mentioned once, I was aiming for a 3-plied worsted weight yarn. Now I know that I will have to spin thicker with the blue sparkly fiber, which is good. It will go faster. I won’t do Navajo ply though. I will ply from 3 bobbins of singles instead.

Our friend Sven, who lives in Frankfurt, is coming to visit in December. Is bringing a suitcase of Kauni Effektgarn too much of a favor to ask?

Someone in the guild just shared this with the group. Wow! Don’t throw out old newspaper. Think recycle.

It’s Friday! I don’t think I’ll be cooped up inside all weekend now that I am feeling better. Crossing my fingers.

Hey! My Spider Queen swatch made an appearance on Lime & Violet: The Daily Chum on Wednesday. Thanks Sassy! That particular picture makes the swatch look a bit like scary spider web, I think. At first I thought it was just Jerry coming over to my blog for a visit. He’s a super fan of Lime & Violet. :-)

And thanks to Camping Jason, I am now exposed to Kauni! I want to get my hands on some Kauni Effektgarn! Look what you can do with it! But it looks like the only way to get them is on www.wollsucht.de and it’s in German only. Maybe CB can help me with ordering.

Remember this?

Yep. That’s the “My So Called Scarf” that I don’t even remember when I started knitting. No. It’s not done yet. Only half done. But now that I’ve dug it out, I intend to finish it quickly. The weather is getting cool. A nice warm scarf would be nice. :-)

Added at 10:57am, how could I forget to mention this. Jane has been knitting some beautiful Niebling patterns. It’s driving me nuts! In a good way. His designs are AMAZINGLY beautiful. But, they are almost impossible to get! Well, maybe I am just too laid-back to fight for them on eBay.
