Just a quick note. Got an urgent request to have a meeting in Taiwan. Wicked sister is causing havoc. Am going there to support the good sister, and to finalize the details of my upcoming trip to China.

Leaving in 10 minutes. Will be back on 5/13. Later!

Wow! I’ve been busy. I have a client who is trying to get his web site launched. It’s a free-lance job at this point, and I feel like I don’t have a day off, and I have to work at any time. I have no choice but do some free-lance work right now. But that’s another story, another post, if I ever get to it.

This is a catch-up post. C and I went to Auburn, Alabama for Kate’s wedding in May. Lovely town. It was fun and scary at the same time. The whole event was fun with new and old friends. At the same time I was worried about Mom’s health and if she was eating and taking medicine. Good thing Angela came just two days after I left.

Auburn is a college town. Quite small. When you ask for direction, most likely you will hear something like, “oh, it’s across the street from such and such store.” No street names. Everybody knows where everything is in a small town, right? Beautiful place.

Here are some photos of the trip:

Just a few teasers. You can see more photos here. Also, I was able to take a video of bride & groom’s first dance, with Claire Holley singing.

Well, that’s it for now. Gotta get ready to go to the temple for the weekend.

I took some pictures while in Taiwan. Not many. I got really sick on the third day. Strange that it was the third time in a row that I was sick when visiting Taiwan. I wonder…

This is the temple that my Mom’s ashes are housed. It’s located in Kao Hsiong, in the south.

New SOGO Shopping Center in Taipei

Don’t you find this funny? I wonder if anyone can actually do this? It’s a POP display inside the shopping center.

I am not so sure where this was. It’s near Dan Sui. It was super hot there.

High speed train. My first time on such a train. It was a smooth ride!

Forgot to mention. Trip up north is postponed. New development at work. We’ll have to visit the bay area in a couple of weeks.

I am taking the rest of the week off. Yay! It was nice not to rush out of the bed this morning. But I have this guilty feeling. A restless kind of feeling. Could it be because I work at home? I am still in the “office” after all. In fact, I am sitting at the “work” desk, blogging on the “work” computer. It’s not the same when I go away for something like the dye party not too long ago, or visiting the temple. You don’t have this nagging feeling that you should do something to produce work.

Speaking of computer, I went out and got a new laptop last Saturday. When we move up north, this “work” computer will be going in a real office. I don’t want to leave my personal data on it. So I got a MacBook. It was difficult deciding if I wanted to go with MacBook Pro or MacBook. Our “Genius” recommended the MacBook since I would only use it for personal stuff. Plus I’d rather have something small that I can carry around easily. If I want a bigger screen at home, I can just add a monitor. I’ll be having fun configuring my new toy this aftrnoon. Crossing my fingers!

One last thing. We have decided to go up to the bay area next weekend (12/1). We’ll be looking around the neighborhoods for a nice place to live in. Tickets are booked and we are ready to go. :o
