Yes, Chia seed, the kind of seeds they use on Chia Pets, and I am adding it to my diet.

It is said to be rich in dietray fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Some also say that it takes longer to pass through your system, keeping hunger away longer after eating. We’ll see how it works for me.

You can sprinkle the seeds on food when you eat. You can also soak it in water for 10 – 15 minutes to make Chia gel. The gel can then be mixed with drinks, yogurt, etc. I drank it directly and it didn’t have any taste at all (without chewing the seeds.)

I got the them on Amazon.

Note: shown below is White Chia that came in a sample packet. The regular kind gel much better and bigger.

CB is home. Actually, he’s been home since Wednesday afternoon. I did give an update in the previous post’s comment section. I thought I should make a proper post to let all of you know.

He started new treatment Monday night after several major tests that weren’t available over the holiday weekend. He woke up soaking wet that same night. Probably due to high fever. He was feeling a lot better by Tuesday morning. The doctor gave him a little test to do. If he could walk around the hospital floor a couple of times after dinner, and again the next morning, he would be OK to be discharged. So he did, and he came home Wednesday afternoon.

He is still weak. But his breathing has improved tremendously. He just needs to relax for a couple of weeks. Plus three weeks of antibiotics. He should be fine after that. :-)

Thank you all for your well-wishing and positive thoughts. CB and I really do appreciate very much. :-) HUGS!

CB is still in the hospital and will probably be there until Wednesday or Thursday. The doctor ordered a broncoscopic to be performed. But there was no staff over the weekend, so it waited until this morning. They also did a lung biopsy at the same time. They also did an echocardiogram in the morning. It will probably take a couple of days for the results.

CB is really sick. It’s not a normal case of pneumonia, difficult to figure out the cause. (There are three possible causes.) The broncoscopic and biopsy will hopefully give a definite answer so right treatments can be given. Meanwhile they are giving him two kinds of antibiotic injections.

I was doing OK the last time I blogged. But he runs a fever every afternoon. Seeing him struggling with breathing really worries me, and hurts me. But he says that he feels better everyday. And he does have good moments. I am probably worrying too much.

I can’t wait to bring him home.

Hi all! A few things to update you on. CB is in the hospital. Nothing to worry about at the moment. He hasn’t been feeling well for a couple of weeks. He started having difficulty breathing last week, causing headaches and fatigue. He finally was willing to go to the doctor yesterday morning. The doc immediately found the oxygen level in CB too low and sent him to the emergency room. They performed tests on him for the entire afternoon and could not find the cause. Finally in the evening after doing a CT scan, they found pneumonia in a hard to detect region of the lungs. So, now he’s in the hospital for a few days to get better. They are also performing extra tests to see there’s anything else. It’s a relief to have found the cause of his illness. Now we can focus on getting better.

Remember that yarn that I named Forest Jewels?

I am going to start knitting something with it. I’ve always had Drifting Pleats from the book Knitting New Scarves in mind. A little scared of the pattern, but am going to give it a good try.

I joined Katherine’s Le Tour de Fleece 2008.

I had so much fun spinning and knitting for Fibre to Scarf Exchange, I thought I’d join up another spinning challenge. Maybe I’ll do well again doing a project with time restraint? We’ll see. Now I have to find something in the stash to get going.

Happy Fourth of July! I’ll be spending the afternoon with CB. :-)

OH! Almost forgot. Chris, here’s the cotton I have to work with:

I am not an experienced cotton person. Maybe it is usual to get cotton in this condition. (It was given to me.) I have at least 30 times more of this cotton. What do you think? Keep or let go? :-)
