I really wanted to say a few hellos, and answer a few questions. But that will have to be later. This post is just a little update to tell you that I am still here. Very very busy with work. Moving servers, tinkering with web stuff, getting ads done, etc.

Look! I finished my hat! I managed to finish that before work madness started.

I made a mess of the crown though. Using both hands to carry yarn while using DPNs was tough! It left my left hand aching for days. Maybe I just need to relax and have more practice (and patience).

There hasn’t been any knitting, spinning or weaving for almost two weeks. I am itching to start something. Hopefully soon.

Have you heard of Kiva.org? I absolutely love the idea. :-)

Did someone want to see my “backside”? Well, here you go, with a look at the body as a bonus:

You don’t see floats on the backside because I wove in the unused strand every other stitch. (Edit: well, they are little floats?) Can you still call this “stranding”? What else can you call it? I really do prefer doing it this way.

The body will be mostly covered by the cuff when the hat is completed. Why bother doing a design on it I wonder? But it was good to practice. Now I contemplate on how to block the hat. It definitely needs blocking because the plain knitting parts of the hat are curling. Just lay it flat? Do stuff it!

This is the Merino/Angelina that I blended at The Fabulous Fiber Fest. You have to click on the photos to see the sparkles better. The second one shows the color of the light. Well. Sort of. Now that I remember what I bought the fiber for, I am glad that I didn’t put in too much Angelina. I’ll be using it to knit a cabled hat once it is spun. The Merino is Ashland Bay top in Denim. Angelina is Crystal Amethyst.

Oh, I want a drum carder. Maybe a Strauch Petite with the brush attachment? I am dealing with a client from hell. I can see it going on for weeks. Carding would help to relieve stress, no? :-)

The cuff is finished! And I like it. I can see that my knitting relaxed a bit.

Now I just have to TURN and knit. Woohoo!

Twined Herringbone Edge. Beautiful to look at. Tedious to do!

I have decided on a hat pattern to knit.

Meet Triple-Patterned Watch Cap from “Hats On!” It should be a fun knit. But I have a question on the pattern already. As you can see, the cuff has a stranded pattern also. It is knit on the reversed side so that when your flip the cuff up it shows off the pattern. The instruction tells you to knit the cuff pattern, then TURN and start knitting the body. Turn? That simple? I imagine that you turn the tube inside out, then continue knitting in the opposite direction? (Which is still going to the left after turning the tube inside out.) Without cutting the yarn? Would that cause any problem? Oops! That’s not just A question.

I am still PLANNING to knit a fair isle scarf. Still not much luck searching on the Internet for a good pattern. Guess I’ll have to try to come up with one. I just wonder how I will determine how much yarn to get.

I am also very very tempted to start a new lace project. It’s all Jane and Alice’s fault. Showing us all that lovely lace knitting. I am thinking Spider Queen? Yeah, I know, I have that Candle Flame Shawl I started months ago. It is just kind of boring. I am going to rip it and knit something else with it.

Here are some scary stuff for you. We were looking through photos that Mom kept in her house. I came across some of my old pictures:

Me at 16! Now, I don’t want to be that skinny again. But I really don’t mind having a thin face again. Ha ha! Hmmm… How about growing my hair long…
