Sounds ridiculous, no? But it’s true! I was approached by someone at Schmap Guides about using one of my photos on Flickr. It was a picture I took of Chabuya’s neon sign. (Embarrassingly, taken with my cell phone.) I gave my consent and, voilà, it was published on 1/14. Check it out. The listing is highlighted in green.
It’s nothing to brag about, really. There’s no money involved. But to be called a “published photographer” just does something to the ego, yes? And Schmap gets a link back and free word of mouth advertisement. Win win. So, go get your Flickr photos named, tagged, geotagged. Fill those descriptions in. You just might become the next Schmap published photographer.
Now, y’all have to excuse me. (
Marianne) I have to go practice some letting go to take care of that “ego” business.

heh heh…. :^)
cool photo though, you know? Congratulations!
Congratulations! I think it’s great that they wanted to use the picture and you are allowed to preen a bit! I’ve often found your pictures visually arresting and very well done
Thank you Marianne & Jane!
I wonder if I will be taking my camera to restaurants more often now. CB would hate that.
