That maybe a question some of you are asking now. Here are a couple of the finished scarf photos:
CB loves the scarf. He wore it out the first day that I declared the scarf was dry. (I left it alone for two days just in case. Cool temperature, you know.)
Thanks to Ravelry, I do have some data to share with you. But not the precise starting date though. Guess I’ll have to remember to type that in myself for future projects.
Pattern: Exchequered (free on Knitty.com)
Yarn: KnitPicks’ Merino Style in Harvest and Asparagus, DK weight, 3 balls each
Needle: KnitPicks’ Options (nickel plated), size US 5
Finished Size: 4.75″ wide, 9′ long
Started: October, 2007
Finished: January 3, 2008 (blocking date)
I decided to just do the usual knit two slip one over and off the needle bind-off. I did test the couple of bind-off methods that I mentioned in an earlier post, but I wasn’t satisfied with the results. Got tired of looking for another solution, and just did the usual and did it tightly. However, I should have knitted on a knit stitch and purled on a purl stitch. The bind-off looks OK. But it could’ve looked neater if I’ve done it properly.
CB likes the extra long length. It is also soft to the skin. I think I’ll make mine about that long, too. I like to wrap a scarf around a few times to stay extra warm. 
Question is, do I start now or next Fall? 
Oh, the weather is now dry, too. We sure had an extra wet weekend though!

Oh yowza. That is one very incredible and FABulous scarf! CB… dude… you really really rate!
Jason… perhaps you should ’start’ soon, give it a few rows here and there and it’ll be ready by next Fall :^)

Yeah. Maybe this can be a mindless project now. I think I am getting quite good at double knitting with two yarns in my left hand. I don’t know.

Awesome looking scarf, can’t wait to make one of my own. I love Merino Style, you’re right, it is soooo soft. Beware of it pilling after using it awhile though.

CB looks great in that scarf and you should make 1 immediately for yourself so you both will look great when you wear them at the same time in different colours. I add this 1 also to my favourites and you as a friend in ravelry.

Well done, that is just gorgeous & so long too - I made mine for my DD so packed it in after 4 feet. It’s a great mindless knitting so start one & pick it up from time to time. I didn’t like the standard BO either so I did the Tight cast off EZ mentions in her Knitting Around book: K3, *pass 1st over next 2, K1 repeat from *.
