Ashland Bay Colonial Top – Multi Dark Green
Sport Weight, 412 yards
Navajo Plied

Really difficult to photograph the finished yarn. The colors just don’t show correctly in the pictures. There’s definitely more green when you look at it with the naked eye. But I can’t really call it green yarn. There are so many colors in the fiber. Therefore the name “Forest Jewels”.

As I mentioned once, I was aiming for a 3-plied worsted weight yarn. Now I know that I will have to spin thicker with the blue sparkly fiber, which is good. It will go faster. I won’t do Navajo ply though. I will ply from 3 bobbins of singles instead.

    WOW! very professional looking!

Looks like you had an awesome thanksgiving too!

Can’t wait to see what you knit up with this new yarn.

    Jason, you make beautiful yarn!
whatever happened to the skein you spun.. when was that?… I think it was the same type of fibre, in Mohogany? probably at least a year ago… did you ever knit anything with it? I remember thinking it was so beautiful but you thought it was… ‘bleh’ which totally cracked me up.

Thanks Micah, Marianne, Sachi and Dave! I WAS going to knit a scarf with a pattern from Knitting New Scarves. But I am not so sure now with it being Sport weight.

Marianne, that yarn was wound into a ball and is now in one of the bags that I take to the guild meeting. :-) No idea what to do with it yet.

It looks just wonderful! Maybe the guild members will have suggestions what you might make next but I think a scarf of some sort still sounds great. Excellent spinning!

  6. YOur yarn came out very nice, it looks like it has a nice texture as well. Ascarf with a lace like pattern will look nice.

Thanks Jane & Andy! :-) Actually, I have another 4 oz of singles in a box that I can’t get to at the moment. I will have double the amount. But I am not sure if that batch will create yarn with similar weight.
