Man, this sure looks pretty. And there is a knit-along.
This could be a fantastic prayer shawl. There is a Buddhist blessing called Mora Paritta (The Peacock’s Protection). I can just picture someone wrapped in this shawl, protected from cold, sitting in front of a Buddha image and peacefully chanting the protection.
I must get the pattern!

Oh, that is pretty – though I think I prefer the Peacock Feathers Shawl. http://www.fiddlesticksknitting.com/PeacockLarge.html
Oh whoa! that is Beautiful… and now just to see.. I’m going to chase Annika’s link and check out what she’s writing about….
Annika, yes, I’ve seen that pattern. It’s quite lovely too. This designer knitted a white version that really looks bird-like (I think). And white is perfect for lay Buddhists.
Marianne, both are beautiful. Which one do you like? I’d try both if I don’t get distracted.
Not until you finish my scarf!
CB, pressuring doesn’t work on me, you know!
That really is gorgeous (as is the shawl); I’d have a hard time choosing!
heh heh, CB, heh…. They really are both beautiful but there’s something about the one you chose that has charmed me a bit more… and oh… swooning thinking about it in white.
Jason thatis a work of art!
It really is quite lovely. Since I gave away my Peacock Shawl from Fiddlesticks, this would be an opportunity to try again but with a different pattern!
