Corner Dining

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

We don’t have a dining room. Well… we did. It was converted to an office years ago. You see, CB was really sweet to let me have the old office space for my shrine room. But, he really missed having a place to sit down and eat. So, recently he got this little table for the corner of the now office area. Kind of need something, right? He ordered table cloth. But looking at it, do you know what I am thinking?

    heh… a drum carder?
    (sorry, CB)

  2. We have a two that turns into four and if we need a bigger table we can bring a folding table from downstairs. Since most of the time there are only two people dinning, it is a space saver. I love the idea.

Marianne, that’s a good one! And what a great idea that I will definitely consider. hehehe But I am thinking that I finally have a good reason to knit a lacy table cloth! Is there a pattern with simple shapes and lines? Don’t think CB wants flowers.

Andy, we seem to be trying to eat fast so we can move on to other things. We are trying to correct that! :-) CB used to host dinners when we had a real table.

Chris, glad that you like it. This piece is by our friend Patty. :-)

    Dear Jason,

You knit the Hemlock Ring Doily and just keep going until it was big enough? Use a nice big size of crochet cotton like a 10 or 20? It’s a free pattern on the Internet and has already been knit into a lap cover.

Dear Jane, thanks for the suggestion. That brings up another question. I really don’t have a clue on the size/weight of some of the cotton yarn. Like UKI Perle Cotton. They are usually listed as 3/2, 5/2, 10/2, etc. Do you know of any web site that explains how to determine the size of the yarn?
