12 Oct 2007 Good Morning!

It’s Friday! I don’t think I’ll be cooped up inside all weekend now that I am feeling better. Crossing my fingers.

Hey! My Spider Queen swatch made an appearance on Lime & Violet: The Daily Chum on Wednesday. Thanks Sassy! That particular picture makes the swatch look a bit like scary spider web, I think. At first I thought it was just Jerry coming over to my blog for a visit. He’s a super fan of Lime & Violet. :-)

And thanks to Camping Jason, I am now exposed to Kauni! I want to get my hands on some Kauni Effektgarn! Look what you can do with it! But it looks like the only way to get them is on www.wollsucht.de and it’s in German only. Maybe CB can help me with ordering.

Remember this?

Yep. That’s the “My So Called Scarf” that I don’t even remember when I started knitting. No. It’s not done yet. Only half done. But now that I’ve dug it out, I intend to finish it quickly. The weather is getting cool. A nice warm scarf would be nice. :-)

Added at 10:57am, how could I forget to mention this. Jane has been knitting some beautiful Niebling patterns. It’s driving me nuts! In a good way. His designs are AMAZINGLY beautiful. But, they are almost impossible to get! Well, maybe I am just too laid-back to fight for them on eBay.

  1. You’re welcome! Your swatch photo really jumped out at me–I think I saw it on Ravelry or Flickr. Looks great! :)

  2. Scary Spider Webs are a good thing…me like scary spider webs! And that swatch is AMAZING! Even the goddess of knitting themselves (L&V) think so! Yup-they totally rock my world.

Glad you’re feeling better-not get knitting that scarf! ;-)

  3. Your swatch looks wonderful! Great job on it. I think this will help you a little to see and feel if you are making the stiches right or if there is a problem. Anniversary reactions is usually an emotional and/or physical manifestation of a past trauma or loss. They happen most frequently at one year after the initial trauma and sometimes every year there after but they also can happen very soon after a recent loss or trauma at 3 months, 6 months etc. I get sick every year at the same time around the anniversary of the death of my father. So do most of the people in my family. It doesn’t last long but it’s like clock-work for me. Go figure! It’s great that you are feeling better now and your knitting surely shows it! Great work on it!

  4. Jason, your swatch IS beautiful! as are all of Jane’s lace knitting (WOW!)
    So glad you’re feeling better!

  5. Sassy, thanks again! :-)

Jerry, I know you like them spider things. Let’s see… starting with that spider stitch pattern. But do you like REAL LIVE SPIDERS??? :-)

Jane, I hope this won’t be a yearly thing. Maybe meditation will help. Oh, you kind of shocked me with the term “Anniversary Reaction”. CB and I just had our anniversary. No, we didn’t celebrate. I was SICK!

Marianne, don’t you want to start a big lace project to help you relax after all that house projects? :-)

  6. Check out babelfish.altavista.com to translate the wollsucht website. You can type in the address and translate the whole site well enough to order the yarn. Also, I found the Kauni yarn at http://www.astridsdutchobsessions.com/ which is a dutch site, but is in english.

  7. Thank you so much Jason!!! Holy cow! I love that web site! Not only because I can understand it, but it also lists patterns that go with the yarn. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
