Dream Stone

Jade, a stone of protection, beloved by the Chinese people. It repels evil, deflects harm. According to Melody, it is also a dream stone. It improves ones remembering of dreams, and assists in “dream solving”.

My mother left behind a beautiful jade ring. It is completely carved out of jade. Different shades of green with a reddish brown oval shape spot. And, it fits me.

I seldom pay attention to dreams. I don’t usually remember them. Often it is like that I don’t dream. After Mom’s passing, many asked me to pay attention to my dreams for her visit. Even my Buddhist teacher asked if I dreamed of her. I had one dream earlier on, but it wasn’t one that answered many questions. So few days ago, looking at the lovely ring that I had been wearing for a few days, I decided to wear it to sleep and see what would happen. I dreamed of my Mom 2 days in a row.

I don’t want to talk in details of my dreams or what they mean. I can tell you this, the best part was seeing her with a big smile, waving at me. I don’t think she was waving good-bye. But she has yet to enter my dream again after that. Even as I continued to have vivid dreams. Probably busy. :-)

I took the ring off last night for a break.

I had a jade ring for a while, probably still have it somewhere, I had such vivid dreams that I had to cease wearing it after a few days. Now I no longer remember the dreams, I think it is likely a good thing.
I think I might have taken it a bit easier if I had realized how vivid things would be. I think I was more blown away that it actually worked rather than the content of the dreams.

It may be good to take a break then go back to it.

Hmmm, sounds like I need a jade ring…and I’ve always loved jade, the lighter green…I used to have more jade…
Jason, I am so happy for you though, and I love the visual of your Mom with a big smile and waving!

Thanks for the tip on the tile squares. I think they’ll be perfect for my limited space and they’ll be easier to store that a regular blocking board. What size did you buy? Can you stick pins in them without any permanent damage?

I wear a jade ring all the time. I got it maybe 20 years ago at Epcot at Disney World. I don’t know that it causes any more dreams though. But it is a reminder not to get involved with an alcoholic again. Best investment I ever made.

I used wear a carnelian ring as well. It was supposed to encourage patience. I broke it when I slammed my hand down to make something work that didn’t.

It’s wonderful that you have seen her again. Some say the jade will also protect you so you should wear it durring the day.

@Kathy, I really wanted to see my Mom. Maybe because I wanted to be sure that she was OK. I don’t mind the dreams. Although some of them in the past were quite awful.

@Marianne, give it a try. Even if it doesn’t work for you, you get a nice ring. :-) I can’t tell you if it were the stone’s energy that made the dreams vivid, or that it served as a mental note/trigger. I am just glad that I had that experience.

@Larry, I’ll email you about the tiles. I guess you need a bigger and stronger carnelian ring? :-)

@Jane, I do wear it whenever I can. Now I just take it off most of the nights. :-)
