Yay! I got it done! I can’t believe that the size turned out to be about the size indicated in the pattern. Phew! It looks like it will have a good drape too. I can’t wait to have mom try it on. Oh, I forgot to mention earlier. Kathy was absolutely right about the bobble bind-off. It took me hours to get it done. I didn’t like how the bobbles turned out. But blocking seemed to have made them look better.
Hmmm… Do I want to spray starch on this?? The idea doesn’t appeal to me.

Oh, Jason. It’s remarkable. I wasn’t sure when you started if I would like a whole shawl in red but I definitely do!

I was a little worried about the color too. But it was my mom’s favorite color.
No starch!!
It’s beautiful. I like how the border pattern transitions from the main pattern — it has a wonderful flow to it. There are a few shawls circulating in blogland now that just seem to be pattern stitches with no cohesiveness (and I’m thinking particularly of one that has nupps in it.) This one, though, has … integrity. Well done!

Thanks for the compliment, Dave!
Jason, your shawl is absolutely stunningly beautiful. That red is divine. No starch necessary.
Beautifully knit, your knitting, yes, very well done!

No starch!
It’s BEE-YOU-TI-FUL!!!
Gorgeous!!!

Jason,
Beautiful, beautiful shawl! Your mother will be so pleased. And in case you haven’t figured it out. Nothing is too red or too bright when you are celebrating Chinese New Year
I don’t think it needs starch to give it shape. You don’t want it to be stiff.
Jason wrote: Thank you Jane. I had given it to mom last night. I will make a quick post about it. No starch! I was quite surprised that the shape held when the pins came out.
Jason, your shawl looks beautiful. Well done.
Jason wrote: Thank you Kerry! It’s been a long time since the last time I wrote you. I can’t wait to hear what you’ve been doing, and if Clive has finished the shawl! I think it was dark green?
It’s gorgeous Jason, well done. I think anybody doing that bobble bind off needs a great big pat on the back.
I always add some cornstarch to the last rinse, small amount though, barely does anything, but what it does, it does well enough for me.
Whats next? WRS??????!!!
LOL.
We could knit along together on that one.

WRS?? I don’t know. I think doing it at this time might push me to retire early from my lace knitting career.
I am thinking about Spider Queen. Maybe after another quick shawl. If you can wait, I’ll be doing WRS somewhere down the road for sure.
Hey, you have the Princess to keep you busy, no?
