This is “Lotus Blossom Shawl” at row 88. I think it’s doing OK. I am a little worried about the size. I know. It will block out larger. But I am just worried. Even though I had the experience of knitting “Violets by the River”. But I didn’t have to pin Violets when blocking. So, this is the first time that I will actually stretch a piece of knitting to size. I am just not so sure how it will work out.

Dear Jason.
Did you not knit a swatch? I mean, I never do but then I don’t expect it to come out in any particular size. Unless the person you are knitting for is the Jolly Green Giant, I think it will be fine. You could put a sheet on the floor and pin the shawl out dry, stretching it as far as it will go and measure. Once it’s wet to block it will stretch at least that far. It will give you an idea of how large it will be when done depending on how many rows you’ve already done. Of course you will have to put it on waste yarn unless you have really long cable extensions like I have with my Knit Picks interchangeable needles. Or you could knit that swatch and block if for an idea.
Oh my, Jason! I’ll tell you how I think it will work out….absolutely beautifully….blocking lace is pure magic, the really wonderful kind.
That colour is just so heart stoppingly gorgeous, yowza. I remember your ‘Violets by the River’ I was very much charmed.
Thanks for stopping by with the birthday cheer, very much appreciated, it means a lot.
I am so glad to see you knitting again, I’ve missed it!
It’s getting bigger! nice to have you back around again…..
I just LOVE that color! What yarn are you using? Is that pattern fairly easy? I looks like it could be perfect for my first lace project. Yes I know it’s becoming pathetic, I still haven’t found the perfect first lace project yet
Hi Jane, I did a swatch and it looked OK. It was within the specifications. It is just my first time to strech a fabric with wires and pins. Just wonder how the heck it will work.
It will work. I don’t have to tell my mom what the actual size is suppose to be. hehehe
Hi Marianne, thanks!
Thank you for the encouragement. I found that my passion for knitting is very strong. Even though I could put it away for a FEW MONTHS. But it really gives me so much pleasure and tranquility.
Hi Matty, I giggle just reading your comment. :p
Hi Knit Picking, this shawl is SUPER EASY. You just have to pay attention and use a lot of markers. I did a post here on the pattern and yarn that I am using. You should do it.
By the way, I am kind of hoping that no one is noticing that I haven’t done that meme. Oops!
